A Warm Chocolate Dessert in Just Minutes
Sometimes Easter baking doesn’t need to be elaborate.
Sometimes you just want something warm, chocolatey, and comforting — ideally within a few minutes.
That’s exactly what this Single-Serve Easter Chocolate Mug Brownie delivers.
It’s rich, soft, and intensely chocolatey, with melted pockets of chocolate running through the centre. Best of all, it’s cooked in the microwave in just a couple of minutes, making it one of the easiest desserts in this entire series.
It’s also the perfect way to use up those leftover Easter chocolate eggs or bunny pieces that inevitably appear around the kitchen after the long weekend.
Grab a mug, stir a few ingredients together, and you’ve got a warm brownie ready faster than you can make a cup of tea.

Why This Recipe Works for Solo Bakers
Traditional brownies are baked in trays and cut into multiple squares.
But when the craving for chocolate strikes, waiting for a full tray to bake isn’t always ideal.
This mug brownie solves that problem.
It’s:
✔ Ready in about 5 minutes
✔ Cooked in one mug
✔ Perfect for using leftover Easter chocolate
✔ Rich enough to satisfy a chocolate craving
It’s also wonderfully adaptable depending on what chocolate you have on hand.
Ingredients (1 Mug Brownie)
3 tbsp plain flour
1 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp neutral oil or melted butter
¼ tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp chopped Easter chocolate
Optional extras:
1 tbsp mini marshmallows
1 tsp peanut butter swirl
1 tbsp chopped nuts
Equipment
- Microwave-safe mug or ramekin
- Spoon
Instructions
Step 1 – Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a microwave-safe mug combine:
- flour
- cocoa powder
- sugar
- salt
Stir until evenly mixed.
Step 2 – Add the Wet Ingredients
Add:
- milk
- oil or melted butter
- vanilla extract
Stir until a smooth batter forms.
Make sure there are no dry pockets of flour at the bottom of the mug.
Step 3 – Add the Chocolate
Fold in the chopped Easter chocolate.
If using optional extras like marshmallows or nuts, stir them through now.
Step 4 – Microwave
Microwave on high for 60–75 seconds.
The top should look set but the centre will still be slightly soft.
Let the brownie sit for 1 minute before eating — it will continue to cook slightly as it rests.
